Regarding ABOLITION

Regarding ABOLITION, I believe that if the world were evolving as it should, VEGANS would be creatively advancing the actual ABOLITION of “meat”, dairy, fish, and egg production and consumption as morally intolerable in any modern society. We ban immoral behaviors such as rape and murder, we ban environmentally -destructive products such as plastic bags, and we ban health threats such as asbestos. Shouldn’t we ban products that are worse than all of those combined, in fact THE WORST threat to human health and the environment, and THE WORST TORTURE AND IMMORAL MASSACRE EVER on the planet – all nicely-packaged in one bloody wrapper.  Why are VEGANS not only running from the word VEGAN these days, but also making the moral choice to endorse “humane meat” or  celebrating a “6-day ‘meat’-eating week” promotion, or partnering with butchers who do so, when they could be working toward the ABOLITION that should be our only acceptable goal and result. If we can ban plastic bags, let’s target “products” even more harmful – “products” that themselves come wrapped in plastic, “products” containing society’s greatest health care costs filling hospitals with heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes, society’s greatest environmental costs of deforestation, climate change, resource depletion, water usage and pollution, and society’s greatest immoral massacre of the harmless innocent ever. Who will plant the seeds of true ABOLITION? Will there even  be the suggestion of a campaign to “ban ‘meat'” in any upcoming conference that calls itself “animal rights”, or will we be diverted to the “right ‘meat'” or the right amount of “meat” again? When do we call for an end to the ongoing war against animals?
