I sent him the following email earlier today:

Greetings Yeb,

I’m so sorry that your country is facing the devastation of yet another tragic typhoon. I hope that you and your loved ones are weathering the storm and safely out of harm’s way.

I heard the news on Democracy Now that you would not be attending the climate conference in Lima, Peru, suggesting that you had been banned. This makes your attendance at the World Vegan Summit & Expo in the Los Angeles area March 20-22, 2015 all the more important.

The same World Bank climate specialists who estimated that animal agriculture produces at least 51% of all human-caused greenhouse gas emissions
( http://www.worldwatch.org/files/pdf/Livestock%20and%20Climate%20Change.pdf ) are now warning us that the only solution for climate change is a worldwide shift by 2020 of 50%-85% of the global population away from “meat”, dairy, fish, and eggs toward living vegan, the responsible choice and action that, thankfully, you have already made.

I’m not aware of your immediate circumstances, and it has been awhile since you were a guest on GO VEGAN RADIO WITH BOB LINDEN, but I would like your eloquent and impassioned voice to be heard again on my program, and would like to extend an invitation for you to be interviewed live as early as this Sunday, or a Sunday in the near future convenient for you, between 5:30pm-6:30pm / pacific time.

It’s so sad that an environmental catastrophe strikes the Philippines to coincide with each of these past three climate summits. People call it a “wake up call” – but wake up and do what? While everyone quibbles over the billions of dollars to throw into the gale-force winds of the problem, and incomprehensible and unattainable carbon trading and taxing schemes, and alternative energy infrastructures that are unaffordable in time and money – people who wake up today can GO VEGAN today, as you have, and become part of the solution instead of causing the problem.

Our hearts go out to the people of the Philippines – and all who suffer the ravages of climate change – with the hope that humanity will wake up and do the right thing to save our precious planet.

We look forward to your attendance and presentation at the World Vegan Summit & Expo. Please let me know when you are available for an interview. Thanks!

Peace,

Bob Linden
